We had a wonderful stay at the cozy cottages. Our one night in Cottage D was perfect. It was spacious, clean, and had all the amenities we needed. The decor was charming, and the location was just a short walk into town. The beautiful scenery along the drive from Christchurch to Hokitika was amazing, and we even caught a fine sunset at the beach.
While not in the main part of town, it was still only a 15-minute walk, manageable for us. I highly recommend these cottages for a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

We loved the modern and comfortable cottages with a homely feel. The non-contact check-in was so easy and convenient. The information booklet had a lot of great recommendations for things to do in town. And the best part? The price was half of what we paid at other places on our South Island trip!
Felt just like home, no complaints at all.

We loved our recent stay at Amberlea Cottages! The location was perfect, with easy access to the corner store and just a short walk to town. The owners were friendly and helpful, making our check-in process easy. The cottage itself had everything we needed, including a washing machine and clotheslines/dryer, a lifesaver during our road trip. The comfortable accommodations made it feel like a real home away from home. Despite a few minor hiccups, like a tight shower stall and a smoky oven, the overall experience was fantastic. The host was quick to address any issues and ensure our stay was enjoyable. We especially appreciated their quick response in fixing the coffee plunger and tea kettle. While the check-in process was a bit confusing and we would have liked some personal interaction with the hosts, we still highly recommend Amberlea Cottages for a comfortable and convenient stay.

We had a fantastic time during our stay at Amberlea Cottages. The cottage was the perfect size for us and had a great location. We enjoyed the sunny deck and found the electronic door lock to be convenient. The cottage was well-equipped, with everything we needed in the kitchen and plenty of linen and towels. We were especially grateful for the heat pump that was turned on before our arrival, keeping the place nice and warm. The cottage was also impeccably clean and tidy, and the shower was lovely. The beds were comfortable, and overall, it was a comfortable, warm, and modern cottage. Our host was incredibly kind and helpful, and we found all the shops, cafes, and restaurants in the area to be staffed by welcoming people. It was a great base for exploring the West Coast.
We do recommend this hotel.

The cottage was beautifully presented and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The owners were friendly and took pride in their properties. The location was quiet and set back from the main area but still within walking distance. We loved the fact that there were two couches in the cottage, which was a rare find for accommodation for four people. The property was immaculate and had easy parking. We also appreciated the modern door entry code system.
That we could not stay longer. it would have been nice to have a bigger TV in the room.

The location was perfect, just a short walk away from everything we wanted to see and do. The cottage itself had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, from a fully equipped kitchen to a cozy bed. We especially loved the spacious bathroom with its lovely shower. The owners were friendly and eager to please, making us feel welcome throughout our stay. Despite a couple of minor inconveniences, such as the lack of hooks for wet towels and needing to park on the road, we thoroughly enjoyed our time at Amberlea Cottages. I highly recommend this place for a wonderful stay in Hokitika.

The cottages were well-decorated and comfortable, with plenty of amenities including a washing machine and a fully equipped kitchen. the location was convenient, situated in a quiet residential street but still within walking distance to the town center. the owner was friendly and easy to communicate with, which made the stay even more enjoyable.
The check-in process was confusing, especially for those arriving at night. There were no clear signs or a designated office, which made it difficult to find the right place.

We were pleasantly surprised by the spaciousness of the cottage and the beautifully decorated rooms. the comfortable beds and clean fresh linen made for a great night's sleep. having a fully equipped kitchen and a washing machine in the cottage was a big plus for us.
It's worth noting that the B&B in the main house had pets, including a dog and two cats. It would have been helpful if this information was mentioned beforehand as it could have influenced our decision to stay there.

Spacious, modern, and comfortable cottage. Fully equipped kitchen. Washing machine & heat pump. Convenient location near Stumpers Restaurant. Consider dropping off rental car at Greymouth Railway Station and taking the Trans Alpine train to Christchurch. Look forward to staying again.

My recent stay at a cozy cottage in a beautiful and peaceful street was a pleasant surprise. The cottage had really good facilities, with all the necessary extras provided by the hosts, like toiletries and cleaning equipment. The hosts were also helpful and accommodating, even allowing us early access during a severe weather event. The surrounding area offered plenty to see and do, from visiting the glow worm dell to exploring Hokitika Gorge. Although our stay was short, the cottage felt modern, clean, and spacious, with a well-equipped kitchen and comfortable beds. I had an excellent experience and would highly recommend this accommodation.
